Frequently Asked Questions

1. What issues do you specialize in?

At Sanctuary Psychotherapy, I specialize in working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, and relationship conflicts. While I primarily provide individual therapy, I also work with couples and families to improve communication and resolve conflicts.

2. What type of therapy approaches do you use?

I use a combination of evidence-based approaches tailored to your needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). These methods help address both emotional challenges and provide practical strategies for daily life.

3. Do you offer virtual therapy sessions?

Yes, I offer teletherapy sessions for California residents. Virtual therapy provides a convenient way to receive support from the comfort of your own home, ensuring flexibility and accessibility.

4. How long does therapy typically last?

The length of therapy varies depending on your individual needs and goals. Some clients may benefit from short-term therapy to address specific concerns, while others may choose to engage in longer-term therapy for deeper personal growth.

5. How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by contacting me via phone or email. I offer an initial consultation to understand your needs and determine if my services are a good fit for you.

6. What can I expect during my first session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll discuss your concerns, goals for therapy, and how we can work together to address your needs. This session will also give you a chance to ask any questions you may have about the process.

7. Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I am not accepting insurance. However, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider to understand your out-of-network coverage.

8. What is your cancellation policy?

I kindly ask for 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24-hour results in the full session fee.

9. How often will we meet for therapy?

The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Typically, clients meet weekly or bi-weekly, but we can discuss a schedule that works best for you during our initial consultation.

10. Is therapy confidential?

Yes, your privacy is my top priority. All therapy sessions are confidential, and I follow strict ethical guidelines to ensure your personal information is protected. There are rare exceptions where confidentiality may be legally breached, such as if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, which we can discuss further during our first session.
